In this example, I have used the sales table data, to sort the slicer visual in descending order in Power Bi.
- Open the Power Bi desktop and load the data using the get data option. Once the data has been loaded select the slicer visual from the visualization.
- In the slicer visual drag and drop the Product Name field from the fields pane as below:

- Click on the slicer and select the ellipses icon (…) in the top right-hand corner, and in the sorting option select the Z>A option to reverse the order of the sort (it will change from A>Z to Z>A)
- By default, the slicer visually displays the value in ascending order. To sort the slicer in descending order choose the Z-A sort option.
- In the below screenshot, you can see that the slicer visually displays the product names has been displayed in descending order.

- Open the Power Bi desktop and load the data using the get data option. Once the data has been loaded select the slicer visual from the visualization.

- Now click on the slicer and select the ellipses icon (…) in the top right-hand corner, in the sorting option select the Z>A to reverse the order of the sort (it will change from A>Z to Z>A)
- By default, the slicer visually displays the value in ascending order. To sort the slicer in descending order choose the Z-A sort option.
- The Screenshot below displays the slicer visual month value has been in descending order ( From December to January).

- click on the slicer and select the ellipses icon (…) in the top right-hand corner, in the sorting option select the Z>A option to reverse the order of the sort (it will change from A>Z to Z>A)
- By default, the slicer visually displays the value in ascending order. To sort the slicer in descending order choose the Z-A sort option.
- In the below screenshot, you can see that the date slicer visually displays the date value in descending order ( from 12 to 1).
