This InfoPath tutorial explains how to resolve the issue This feature requires SharePoint 2010 or greater with InfoPath Forms Services enabled.
Recently I had a signup for an Office 365 enterprise E3 trial and then I created a SharePoint site collection from SharePoint Online admin center. Then I wanted to create a new InfoPath 2013 form in the same site collection.
I opened InfoPath designer 2013 and then choose SharePoint List Form templated in InfoPath and then click on the Design Form button. Then I gave the SharePoint Online site URL in the Data connection wizard dialog box and click on Next.
But it through an error which says: This feature requires SharePoint 2010 or greater with InfoPath Forms Services enabled. The error looks like below:

To resolve the above Microsoft InfoPath 2010 or greater is required to use this feature office 365 we have to enable InfoPath forms services in sharepoint online.
Follow these steps:
Open SharePoint Admin center. For this login to Admin.Microsoft.com and then from the home page click on the Admin icon which will open the Office 365 Admin center.
Then in the Office 365 admin center, click the Admin icon and then SharePoint to open the SharePoint Admin center. Alternatively, you can type the URL in the browser like below:
https://<Your Office 365 Tenant Name>-admin.sharepoint.com/
This will directly open the SharePoint admin center.
Then in the SharePoint Admin center, click on “InfoPath” from the left side and then check the below two checkboxes.
- Allow users to browser-enabled form templates
- Render form templates that are browser-enabled by users
It will also show some warning messages like below,
Office 365 will support InfoPath Forms Services through 2015, but Microsoft is in the process of retiring InfoPath-based technologies.

just ignore that and check both the checkboxes, it should appear like below:
Once you Save the page, wait for some time and start again InfoPath. This time the error “this feature requires sharepoint 2010 or greater with InfoPath forms services enabled” will not come.
