This SharePoint Online tutorial, we will discuss how to use the SharePoint Online modern list and document library web part in the modern SharePoint Online page.
In the same way, we can use the list or document library web part in SharePoint 2019.
Users also can filter, sort, view, and group the list. Apart from this formatted columns, nested groups, and attention view can be displayed in the list web part.
As of today, below are the lists which you can add into a modern SharePoint page:
- Custom lists
- Announcement lists
- Contact lists
- Issue tracking lists
Similarly, by using the document library web part, you can display a document library in the modern SharePoint Page.
In the document library web part, we need to specify the view or folder of the library which you want to display. Users can also pin a document to the top of the library, download, delete and rename files, or can go the full document library by clicking See all.
Also, files can be shown in the details view to tiles view and column formatting and nested folders created in the source list.
Here, I have a SharePoint list which has columns like:
- Delivery Date
- Delivery By etc
You can also add few items to the SharePoint list.
Now, we will see how to add a list web part in modern pages in SharePoint Online or SharePoint 2019.
Edit SharePoint modern page and click on the “+” option to add the Web Part. After clicking the option, a search box will appear on that site. In that box, Search “List” Web Part. Then click on “List(preview)” like the below screenshot.
After adding the “List” Web Part, automatically the Lists will be shown to us, you can see the “Announcement” List as below. Just click on that “Announcement”.
Now it will display the all “Items” of that “Announcement” List like as the given screenshot.
Click on the “Edit” button of the list web part. You can see the List web part properties box, here give a “List” name, I gave “Announcement” as list name and “View” as “All Items”.
Here, you can also provide the folder name as well as the Size of the web part. I have given the Size as Autosize – fit to number of items.
Apart from this, you can also choose the below options:
- Small – about 5 items
- Medium – about 15 items
- Large – about 30 items
After Publishing the Site/Subsite, the items of the “Announcement” list will display as like below.
Now, we will see how to add document library web part in modern pages in SharePoint Online or SharePoint 2019.
Edit the modern page in SharePoint Online or SharePoint server 2019 and then click on the + icon and then you can see Document Library web part is there, click on that to add the document library web part.
Then you can see it will display all the supported document libraries, choose the particular document library which you want to add.
Once you select the particular document library, it will display the documents available in the document library like below:
Here you can also change the list view like list view or compact list view.
You can also edit the document library web part to change various properties like a document library, view, folder, size, etc.
